How it started

After creating Save Indian Family yahoo group, next two years very few joined and discussing about their cases randomly, as there was no database to see members details at one place to keep track. So Rudolph Dsouza wrote a PHP script to collect members data and details.

This is original php form he wrote.
Save Indian Family - Yahoo Group

Above form was sending details to his Email which he was making a Member database and also adding them to yahoo group. Date of these emails can be seen dating back to 2005. If anyone has any proof of any such activities even before 2000 can send their NGO/Group details with proof to admin @ mensrights.in , so we can host their details. We will not anyone doing business in the name of MRA, taking money or making money for Advice/Help to false case Victims.

This is his contribution for the cause, and made him Father of Men’s rights in India. He was honoured as FATHER OF THE MEN’S RIGHTS MOVEMENT in a National meet held in Goa in 2008.

Advice - Please - Yahoo Group

In this same National meet many other prominent MRA’s were present, today some from Bangalore/Delhi/Calcutta claim that they started this movement, some of  those anyone can see in above photo.

Rudolph Dsouza, Gokul P R, or Jinesh Zaveri never claimed credit for their contribution to the Men’s rights cause. They worked hard to build this movement, but others started to encash and started to claim names.

Gokul P R started 1st Telephonic HELPLINE for distressed MEN, its new concept then but now every Activists handle but no one knows it was started by Gokul. early 2000 phone was not so common, there were no mobiles, mostly it was a landline.

Next comes Jinesh Zavari, from Borivali Mumbai, started to meetup other men at Borivali Sanjay Gandhi National Park to discuss their cases and advice them, that’s how WEEKLY MEETINGS started.

We can call Gokul P R as Father of the Men’s rights India Helpline and and Jinesh Zaveri as Father of the Men’s rights India Weekly meetings.

This is how Men’s rights activism started in India.

in 2005 some members split from SIF main group and started their own websites, and started to take money for the Advice. which made Dsouza to stop forwarding all registered members by his Advice Please script to SIF. same time Dsouza started his own website https://mynation.net.

Many claim there were Men’s rights group even before 2000, but none has any proof that they helping / Advising men in their legal matters nor collected data about members. In Some cities like Delhi, Calcutta, Bangalore some fringe groups were there but not as Global level as SIF or MyNation.

Around 2005 from USA, Satya/Andy and his team started 498a.org

From Bangalore Arun Murthy/Atul Jain/Saraswathamma started Sanghabalya and ashakiran.org
